Every pound paid into the trust comes back out as manure, water, hedge or shed.

We are not raising for a billion-pound campaign. We are raising for a brass tap, a slate roof, a length of hedge stakes, and the room hire for next Wednesday's meeting.

Seedling pots and freshly potted-on tomato plants on a wooden potting bench in the propagation shed at Carr Bank.

The trust has no fundraising team. No agency. No direct-debit form-filler at a railway station. We are funded by plot rents, by a small handful of regular donors, by an annual fundraising stall at the Autumn Show, and by the occasional bequest from a long-standing tenant.

If you give £15, that pays for a sack of well-rotted manure for the Common Plot. £75 buys a length of hedge stakes, the kind we mallet into the western boundary at Carr Bank each winter. £150 pays the parish-hall room hire for three trustees' meetings. £500 pays for most of a new shed roof.

Every gift is acknowledged in the next quarterly dispatch (you can opt out of being named). All donations — one-off or monthly — are receipted to a 219936 reference. We are eligible to claim Gift Aid on the donations of UK taxpayers; the box is on the form to your right.

If you would prefer to give by post, write to the office at Westgate Parish Hall, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire NG18 1SR with a cheque made payable to Allotments for Labouring Poor. We will write back, by post, with a receipt.
